The goal of the team is to develop dispersed systems and hydrogels for the delivery of poorly stable comounds (peptides, proteins, oligonucleotides, DNA). The major research topics are:
* Design of nano- microtechnologies or trojan delivery systems for ocular and oral administration of fragile and/or poorly absorbed molecules.
* Systemic administration of nucleic acids by lipids or polymer based delivery systems
* Design of nanocapsules for the delivery of ultrasonic contrast agents.
* Design of a therapeutic approach to reduce emergence of resistance in the intestinal flora during treatments by antibiotics. This approach uses the colonic delivery of antibiotic degrading enzymes. Patents issued by our team are licensed to the company Da Volterra for development.
